Sleep

How many hours do you need to sleep?  It is a question, which is being asked in various seminars.  The number of hours that you need to sleep depends upon your biological conditions.  Sleep is a necessity to put you back into a resourceful state.  It is said that Thomas Alva Edison slept about 4 hours per night and took occasional catnaps of 5 or 10 minutes during the day if he felt tired.  Pope Leo XIII lived for a vigorous and productive life had slept only for three hours per night.  It is said that Napoleon used to sleep while travelling in a horse and a few minutes of nap while horse riding was enough for him.

To find out how much sleep you need, you can experiment with different sleep lengths for a week or two and adjust your quantity of sleep depending upon your comfort level.  A simple calculation: If you can save two hours per night by keeping awake from Monday to Friday, you will get an extra 40 hours - 1 additional week - every month.  If this is very ambitious, try to cut down one hour of sleep per night.  This will give you six extra weeks per year, adding up to your lifetime five more years!  Think what you could accomplish in 5 years time!!

Are you awake or asleep to this reality?
