Review your goals!

While you should be firm and determined in reaching your goals, it does not mean that you should not be flexible in reviewing your goal and checking its suitability to the changing context. You may add a new skill or you may have come across a new opportunity. Be aware of the changing time and have an eye on the future. Do a 'SWOT' analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat) and check if there is any new input in these parameters. Check if any of your existing skill has become obsolete and inadequate.

In fact one of the reasons why people are reluctant to do a goal setting exercise is the fact that if they fix the goal, they may not be able to change it and they may lose the flexibility. It is just like checking if you really want to reach the destination as you are taking the journey. It is perfectly ok to reconsider various options even as you are travelling.

Today, consider your goal and check first its relevancy to the present context. Ask yourself the question: 'If I were to have one more choice, what will I be doing now?'

Caution: Don't become fickle minded.
